We’re excited to announce our newest staff member — coming soon!

Joe holds a BA from University of Georgia and a JD from Georgia State University College of Law. Before joining SK Collaborative, he worked in the Atlanta Mayors office of Sustainability, as a Legal Fellow for the Atlanta Beltline, a Research Assistant at the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, and as a Policy Intern at Southface.

He manages multifamily certification work including projects certified under EarthCraft Multifamily and Communities, National Green Building Standard (NGBS), Enterprise Green Communities, and LEED for Neighborhood Development. He is a RESNET certified HERS rater, a LEED Green Associate an EarthCraft Technical Advisor, and an NGBS Green Verifier.

Rachel started as SK’s first intern, and quickly fell in love with green building for its interdisciplinary approach grappling real-world issues within the built environment that impact health and sustainability. She came onboard full-time after graduating from Agnes Scott College with a B.A in Public Health and looks forward to a long career in building better for people and our planet.

When off the field and out of the office you can find her gardening, raising chickens, hiking and fishing!

Andrew graduated from Emory University with a B.A in Environmental Science. As an alumni of the Southface Emerging Leaders program, Andrew has contributed to green building projects across the country. He worked as a Sustainability Analyst at Gables Residential before joining SK Collaborative.

Andrew has a deep commitment to the preservation of the natural world stemming from his experiences as an Eagle Scout. On the weekends you’ll likely find him hiking in the north Georgia mountains or walking his dog, Mabel. He’s also an avid baseball fan (Go Braves!)

Emily is an Atlanta native and graduated from Georgia Tech with a Civil Engineering degree. She has a background in building enclosure consulting and has earned her EIT and REWO. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors and exploring different Atlanta hiking spots.

Jennifer graduated from Georgia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. She has worked as an intern in LEED consulting, which led her to pursue the field of sustainable construction in the hopes that her work will improve whatever corner of the world it inhabits. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys tap dancing, photography, and all manner of art projects.

Abe Kruger, SK Collaborative cofounder, honed his expertise in sustainable construction over the last 17 years as a contractor, educator, and consultant in the residential construction industry. He has numerous industry accreditations, including Certified Energy Manager (CEM), LEED AP HOMES, BPI Building Analyst, and Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Trainer, Quality Assurance Designee (QAD), and Rater.

He is a member of the national Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) Board of Directors and Georgia Healthy Homes Coalition Steering Committee. He is the coauthor of the first residential green building textbook, Green Building: Principles and Practices in Residential Construction (Delmar/Cengage Learning).

Deborah has a Bachelor in Fine Arts and Master Degree in Architecture from the University of Puerto Rico. Deborah also enjoys oil painting and drawing.

Sarah is a creative and dynamic professional with over a decade of experience in program development, community engagement, and outcome management. She holds an MSP from Florida State University’s Department of Urban & Regional Planning, with a specialization in Environmental Planning. Prior to joining the SK team, Sarah managed disaster mitigation and resilience projects and state/federal grant programs in the Southeast. Past experience also included serving as a Mayoral Fellow at the Tallahassee-Leon County Planning, Land Management & Community Enhancement (PLACE) Division in Tallahassee, FL and as Community Engagement Coordinator at YouthBuild Louisville – a nonprofit organization that empowers young people with construction skills through building affordable housing.

When she’s not at work, you can find Sarah exploring Georgia’s outdoors, planning scavenger hunts, or getting her hands dirty in the garden.

Julia is from Worcester, Massachusettes and a senior at Emory University studying Engineering Science on the Geoscience track. She loves any outdoor activity and is passionate about how green technologies can be used in construction.
