This project, developed by Tapestry Development Group in collaboration with Swinerton and Foley Design Associates, aims to address the urgent need for low-income housing in the Atlanta region. The development features 1,200 square feet of ground-level retail space and an outdoor community garden where residents can grow fruits and vegetables. Its strategic location offers easy access to various forms of public transportation.
The Diamond College Park building offers one- and two-bedroom homes, 60 units in total, with 50 dedicated to multi-family homes and the rest being market-rate units. The tenants have access to amenities such as a gallery, fitness center, and community garden, among others.
The project began when the College Park First United Methodist Church decided to partner with key leaders throughout College Park to repurpose its old building structures into sustainable, affordable living spaces for the community. With much community input and support from various non-profits, this multifamily project is part of a larger effort to revitalize the College Park neighborhood.
Diamond Park achieved National Green Building Standard certification. The development incorporates several cost-efficient and environmentally friendly features, as well as elements reflecting the community’s culture, including murals by local artists.
