2023-2024 Colorado QAP Factsheet

Through careful design and construction details, green buildings promote safe, healthy, and efficient homes. Colorado requires green building certification for all 2023-2024 Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP) projects. These and other measures in the QAP’s Energy Efficiency and Sustainability section are an important step in ensuring high quality, holistic affordable housing for low-income Colorado residents.

Most of the sustainability requirements are the same from the previous version of the QAP. Section 8 (Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Requirements) now includes clarifying language that applications specifying Electrification-Ready construction and higher levels of energy efficiency certification are considered more competitive.
